Viking came from a farm in 1987 when he was three, along with friend Buttons, who died a few years ago. He had been living wild on a hill and was very scared but eventually became one of the best ponies the riding school ever had.

He was retired and shared his field with some of his mare friends. He once changed his affections from his life long love, Kitty, to Tegan. Kitty was then best friends with Tegan's friend, Shamrock, and we were not sure which of the two swapped first or if it was a mutually agreed arrangement. However the next year they changed places again and Kitty was still the love of Viking's lifetime.

Viking had his fortieth birthday two months befre he died. He was a big favourite and everybody will miss him.
