Star is a lovely dark bay Welsh Cob, born in 1995, who came to Blaikiewell in 2009, when she was 14 having had Laminitis and was no longer able to compete. She was very nervous but our volunteer, Ainsleigh, took to her at once and spent all her spare time with her. She soon became much happier and Ainsleigh has continued to look after her like her own horse. Ainsleigh remembers the day she arrived, two month before her 16th birthday.

Ainsleigh also discovered Star was bred by the mother of the man who, years later, did our fencing, Nick of Tullibardine Stud, who saddly has since died. Star was sold on three times before she came to us. Ainsleigh said Nick was so happy to see her that he cried because she was his mum's last foal.
